Marsa council complains over 'inconveniences' by migrants

Marsa local council said today it was calling on the authorities to take all necessary action to stop regular inconveniences being caused by migrants who live at the Marsa open centre.

The council said it was referring especially to the areas where children and other residents of Marsa met.

"Actions that breach the public peace are unacceptable for the council, including indecency directed at those using public spaces," the council said.

The council also called on the authorities to confirm that the F.X. Attard school building would not be used as another open centre.

Should that actually be the case, the council said it would protest strongly and take all action allowed by law.

As I commented some time ago, he who calls a spade "a spade" is not a racist - but an observer of facts. Can the facts about illegal migrants and their behaviour being indicated to us in recent media reports and those complained of by the Marsa Local Council be denied? No. Where do we go from here?

The government should consider that the locality of marsa already has a lot of inconvenience caused by power station and heavy traffic. The local council must react if more immigrants are going to be accommodated in FX Attard School, because it is intolerable that the local authorities dump all national problems to marsa residents. One must ask are we considered as 2nd class citizens?
