MLP vigilance board to grant amnesty

The Labour Party Vigilance Board has accepted leader Joseph Muscat's request to grant an amnesty to all those who had been penalised by the board.

Days after his election on June 6, the new Labour leader had requested the amnesty so that the party could start afresh.

Speaking at San Ġwann, Dr Muscat also said that the Prime Minister's silence on the Mistra contract scandal was unacceptable.

Dr Muscat said the public expected an explanation from the Prime Minister on the actions and behaviour of MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando.

Earlier in the week, the Malta Environment and Planning Authority revoked the permit for the development of a disco in Mistra owned by the Nationalist MP.

Dr Muscat also referred to the granting of pairing for a vote in Parliament earlier this week. He said the MLP had acted responsibly and expected its actions to be reciprocated.
