A one-day introductory workshop entitled 'Brief solution focused therapy' for counsellors, psychologists, psychotherapists, nurses, doctors, psychiatrists, social workers, care workers, students, PSHE teachers and school counsellors will be held on July 18, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at PHBS, 145/147 Eucharistic Congress Road, Mosta.
The workshop is aimed at all mental health professionals who are interested in grasping the theoretical underpinnings and fundamental skills of Brief Solution Focused Therapy. BSFT focuses on what clients want to achieve through therapy rather than on the problem/s that make them seek help.
By using specific techniques, the therapist/counsellor uses respectful curiosity to invite the client to envision their preferred future and then collaboratively attend to any moves towards it, whether these are small increments or large changes.
The workshop will be led by Charlie Azzopardi, a systematic family therapist. For more details, call 7966 3265 or e-mail azzopardi.charlie@gmail.com.
