Mission accomplished!

The Kayak For Cancer Challenge which set off at 3.15 yesterday morning from Marsalforn came to a satisfying ending at Pozzallo at 5.45 p.m.

A distance of 47.74 nautical miles was covered in 14 and a half hours where the kayakers averaged 3.29 knots.

Among the many well-wishers on the quay of the Pozzallo marina was the mayor, Giuseppe Sulsenti and Concetta Vindigni, head of the tourism services office at the Comune di Pozzallo.

The Maltese kayakers and other members of the yachting community involved in the event will be hosted to a presentation reception at the Palazzo Municipio of Pozzallo this morning.

The Malta Sicily Kayak Challenge organised to raise funds in aid of the Malta Cancer Foundation, has been supported by GasanMamo Insurance Ltd, Farrugia Investments Ltd, Datatrak plc, Go Sicily Properties, Tower Supermarkets Ltd (Sliema), Virtu Ferries Ltd, Nobletec and Errea by Tutto Sports Ltd.
