Wied iż-Żurrieq shambles

Wied iż-Żurrieq is the responsibility of Qrendi local council. Can the mayor please pay a visit to this popular and tourist location and see for himself the mess it has fallen into? Does he know that summer has already started and, therefore, this unique, rocky beach has become highly frequented by locals and tourists alike?

There is an insufficient number of ladders by which bathers can leave the water. Only youths and athletic bathers can climb out of the water after making a considerable effort, while children, the less fit and the elderly have to swim a considerable distance to make use of the few ladders available or else use the boat slip. There is also an urgent need to erect again the iron railing next to the steps leading to the inner inlet. Moreover, a sufficient number of waste bins are necessary because these are also lacking.

I am sure that all the tourists and locals that frequent Wied iż-Żurrieq deserve a better service from the Qrendi council and expect, without delay, a marked improvement in the maintenance of this picturesque place.
