A 47-year-old man yesterday pleaded guilty to misappropriating €2,239 (Lm1,000) from an export company last November.

Paul Leone Ganado of Żurrieq admitted to misappropriating the money to the detriment of ATA Export Company, falsifying documents and making illegal use of them.

Magistrate Anthony Vella heard how Mr Ganado had already paid a substantial amount of the money back and decided to postpone judgment to October, giving Mr Ganado time to pay the outstanding amount.

Police Inspector Ian Abdilla prosecuted.

Lawyers Franco Debono and David Harding appeared for Mr Ganado.
