Alvin Grech elected GFA president

Alvin Grech has been elected president of the Gozo FA.

The election, held during the association's annual general meeting last Monday, was contested by Grech and Paul Buttigieg. Grech, who served as GFA secretary for the past seven years, received 27 votes to Buttigieg's five.

In a short speech after the outcome of the election was announced, Grech said he was confident that the co-operation between the clubs and the administration of the association will continue in order to sustain the improvement of football in Gozo at all levels.

Grech, who succeeds Joe Cordina at the helm of the Gozo FA, told delegates that he intends to devote more attention to the youth sector which is vital for the future of the game in Gozo.
