Travel tax refund
Now that it is official that the travel tax of Lm10, equivalent to €23.29, for flights starting from Malta, is to be removed on November 1, it is only fair that those who have already booked flights for December 2008 and even for March 2009 be refunded the amount already paid.

I am in the same position and want to know how to get my refund of the 10 LM departure tax for seven flights I have booked for myself and my family in December. A total of 163.03 Euro this is no joking matter, and I hope I have got to pay no Air Malta administration charge either to get the money back.

Well said ! I have 2 flights booked for mid november and had enquired about a possible refund for the tax paid. The reply I received at the beginning of the month (3rd June) was that at that day, Air Malta did not receive the government decree relating to abolition of the departure levy from Malta and that once that decree is received, they will be in a position to make the necessary arrangements as per GOVERNMENT INSTRUCTIONS.
Seems like this blessed refund will be a long way coming..I wonder if it will be kept on ice until the next 'freebie' time (i.e some sort of elections).
