It was my conviction that whenever an irregularity, a misdeed or an injustice was discovered, this was abruptly stopped, the culprit apprehended, and most important of all, the offending perpetrator condemned to pay relative damages, or forced to dutifully return stolen money/property to its rightful owner.

If this was and still is the law, why is it that the government, found guilty by the European Union of discriminating against Maltese travellers going abroad (by having them pay €23 when leaving their island home), is allowed to continue taxing us and stealing from our pockets until November? This is most opportune reasoning for our "big brother" because by then, the majority of travellers would have gone for their holidays.

Furthermore, why is the government allowed to keep the llegitimately or discriminately obtained millions of euros?

Why is it so much in vogue for the government to cite the European Union's laws and regulations when convenient, yet fail to follow the same systems when not in its favour?
