The government is choosing the easy way for the docks to be competitive: privatisation. The hardest way is to nourish the docks like a plant, providing nutrients (investment) so the plant will grow.
Therefore, I urge the government to be responsible and to choose the hard way - it would be a sign of its maturity. Doing the easy way out is just being timid. A government afraid of challenges is like a ship which always stays in port afraid of bad weather. And a person who does not honour his promises is a person who cannot be relied on. The government promised to help the docks become profitable and competitive but it is going back on its word. Not a very wise decision.
The drydocks are a big asset for our country. The expertise, prestige, reliability etc took 200 years of hard work to build.
If there are problems, they have to be solved.
I pray that the government will be wise and change its course of action. The docks are not for sale.
