Mario Debattista has been appointed general manager of the Suncrest Hotel plc.
In his new role, Mr DeBattista will be overseeing the hotels' operations to ensure that the hotel maintains its strong presence as one of the leading leisure properties on the island.
Mr Debattista brings with him a wealth of experience within the hospitality industry, having worked for 30 years with Corinthia Hotels International. During his term with the Corinthia Group, Mr Debattista held various executive positions and was also assigned to manage other hotel operations abroad. For the last five years, he held the position of general manager at the Corinthia Jerma Palace and Corinthia San Ġorġ and Marina.
The Suncrest Hotel is this month celebrating its 20th year of operation. Given its strategic location in one of the most picturesque bays in Malta, the Suncrest has today become a landmark four star hotel in the northern part of the island. When it was inaugurated in June 1988, the hotel was a much-needed investment by AX Holdings in the tourist industry.
This popularity has been retained over the years and the hotel still enjoys a high percentage of repeat customers from the Benelux, German and UK markets.
