UEFA have confirmed that Italian referee Roberto Rosetti will take charge of Sunday's Euro 2008 final in Vienna.

The Turin native officiated the opening game of the tournament and was also given the quarter-final between Turkey and Croatia.

The 40-year-old will now control the final at the Ernst-Happel Stadium, along with assistants Alessandro Griselli and Paolo Calcagno.

A hospital manager by profession, Rosetti took charge of four games in the 2006 World Cup, but was denied a shot at the final by the heroics of the Italian team who went all the way to winning the trophy.

This time around, Italy's exit at the hands of Spain on Sunday has handed Rosetti the chance to take centre stage.
