A man was jailed for eight months today after he admitted to being an accomplice in an attempted theft at a pharmacy in Valletta.

Vincent Cucciardi admitted to being an accomplice in the attempted theft of the British Dispensary pharmacy and relapsing.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke noted that from his criminal record it resulted that Mr Cucciardi had committed various crimes over a number of years. The court also took into consideration that when Mr Cucciardi was given a suspended sentence or put under probation this did not serve as a deterrent to him.

The court subsequently jailed him for eight months.

Police Inspector Carmelo Magri prosecuted.
