Industrial action at hospital
The Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin has ordered industrial action among Mater Dei Hospital's bio-medical engineering staff. As from Wednesday, staff members will not use any means of communication, including e-mail, intranet, mobiles, pagers, faxes and telephones.
The industrial action was ordered after a meeting with the health authorities on Thursday failed to resolve an impasse in a dispute over the distribution of technical support staff's working grades and the filling of a number of vacancies.
