Actavis Ltd, located in Bulebel, has been granted the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Status Certificate by the Customs Division.

Following Actavis Ltd's application for AEO full certification, the Customs AEO Audit Team audited the company in detail versus the criteria of compliance, record-keeping, financial solvency and safety and security. Following this assessment, the team recommended to the Customs management the granting of full AEO status to Actavis Ltd.

The AEO status is an accreditation that ensures compliance with the requirements of the supply chain. The AEO regulation encourages companies to increase security, in exchange for incentives which will improve the efficiency of the supply chain and ultimately reduce costs. Actavis Ltd is a subsidiary of the Actavis Group, a multinational pharmaceutical organisation employing 11,000 people in 32 countries worldwide.

The Maltese operation alone boasts a workforce of no fewer than 500 highly skilled employees.
