The Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) recently organised a gala concert of spanish music and dance with Spanish Ambassador Maria Isabel Vicandi, at The Palace Hotel, Sliema.

The concert celebrated 40 years of diplomatic relations between Spain and Malta.

The concert was held in aid of the YWCA (Malta) and included a piece by Manuel Garcias Matos, Sweetheart of the Torero, arranged as a trio by Silvia Zammit, a piano solo by Isaac Albéniz, an aria from Bizet's Carmen, a 15th century piece by Charles Camilleri, and a song by Joaquín Turina.

The second half of the programme was presented by the Spanish dance theatre under the direction of Deborah McNamara.

Later a reception was held with Torres Spanish wines, and tapas.
