The police have arrested two men on suspicion of theft.

The two were seen acting suspiciously by a police patrol in St Julians early this morning, and the suspicions were confirmed when the two ran on seeing the police.

The police gave chase and arrested the two – a 19-year-old from Qormi and a 21-year-old from Marsa. A bag thrown away by one of them contained items thought to have been stolen.

Further investigations are under way.
