SmartCity Malta has submitted a detailed planning application for Phase One of its development.
This phase will provide over 12,000 sqm of high quality office space primarily for ICT and media companies.
The submission of this application follow the highly successful launch of Phase One of SmartCity Malta which took place a week ago in Ricasoli itself.
SmartCity Malta has also submitted a series of renderings of the first phases of the development portraying a visualisation of how the finished township will transform Ricasoli into a state-of-the-art, self-sustained knowledge-based township (picture).
Over the last weeks SmartCity Malta also submitted to MEPA a detailed Environmental Impact Assessment and Traffic Impact Study. “They are based on the government’s and SmartCity’s philosophy of sustainable development, ensuring that the right balance is struck between the various facets of the project,” SmartCity said.
“This phase will witness the development of the first ICT and media landmark which will be hosting the first local, regional and international companies to set up in SmartCity. This part of the planning process is crucial to enable us to commence the development and engage with potential business partners to be part of SmartCity Malta,” SmartCity CEO Claudio Grech said.
