A man from Naxxar was yesterday charged with being in possession of and trafficking about 1.5 kilogrammes of cannabis resin.

Magistrate Silvio Meli heard Albert Grima, 27, deny trafficking and possessing the drug in circumstances denoting it was not for his exclusive use. After taking into consideration the large amount of drugs involved, the court remanded Mr Grima in custody.

Police Inspector Johann Fenech prosecuted.

Lawyer Joseph Giglio was defence counsel.
