Appreciation - Maria Ruggier Micallef

Maria Ruggier Micallef was a faithful and dedicated wife to my beloved brother Alfred, an excellent and dedicated mother of seven and a genuine friend to all who knew her.

I must say she was a lovable mother, even to me, after my dear mother died in 1968 and my other brother got married.

She was a mother and a teacher at heart.

I could have gone to eat at her home every day after work had I wanted to. She seemed to get offended if I did not go.

Maria was a special woman. I hope she has already met my beloved mum who always spoke so highly of her and Alfred. Maria always made everyone welcome and she was extra generous. I used to feel so welcome at her place; even my friends were her guests.

She would cook for a whole regiment, plus do all the work a family of nine requires. She even gave home-made cooked meals to needy people. The happiest moments were when she was surrounded by children whom she loved. She was an example to Christian mothers.

Mary help of Christians, pray for her soul and for her lovable family.
