Rush on Pavarotti Tribute tickets

Joseph Calleja's Pavarotti Tribute Concert is experiencing a rush on Gold Circle tickets for the event due to be held in Valletta on July 12.

Nearly all the tickets for the exclusive seating have already been snapped up. Organisers NnG Promotions described demand for tickets as "amazing" with hardly any VIP places left.

The repertoire is set to include some of the best-loved pieces by Puccini, Verdi and Leoncavallo, made famous by the late Luciano Pavarotti. Mr Calleja will be accompanied by Nataliya Kovalova, George Petean and the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra.

The organisers said that, due to Mr Calleja's international fame, anticipation for the concert is widespread and many tickets have been purchased by foreign visitors.

Tickets are priced at €80 (Lm34.34), €110 (Lm47.22) and €140 (Lm60.10) and can be bought online at www.nngpromotions.com or from Vodafone, Exotique and Agenda outlets.
