I hope that the person occupying the role of Sec Gen will be inline with the policies of Lawrence Gonzi and with that of "flimkien kollox possibli", that the pn won the last election with. The person either elected or chosen from a small group of people for the post of Sec Gen will still consider to be open for the Maltese society and all those who have a different opinion from their own as nationalists.

It's strange that the PN chooses their 'staff' from an election amongst the executive.
Do PN delegates exist? They don't have the right to vote here?
Do PN 'tesserati' exist? What is their position and their right to vote in such cases?
Strange silence, considering that the PN were amongst the most vehement for insisting that all the labour 'tesserati' amongst the whole population of the Maltese islands should be given the right to vote for party leader... for deputy leaders... for general secretary....
Why two weights and two measures if you're playing 'home'?
If the PN really wished the best for the MLP they should be the first to set example and enable all their 'tesserati' to vote for the new PN general secretary. If it's even worth voting considering the miserably low interest in the post.

I am sure Charlo will win this one and this is what the PN machine wants. I am so amazed only 3 posts so far when I read. If it were MLP issue!! e!!! So how about discussing why only the executive chooses the Sec Gen? Is this not an issue for Bondi Plus?

None of the two contestants is a clear favourite - for the simple reason that they're both mediocre and not the preferred choices.

Interesting. I wonder what maneuvers took place during the past days! However, I tend to admire the way they work!
As for the two candidates for the Seg gen post...I think that Charlo Bonnici is less an MLP attacker than Borg Olivier, and more respected by the general public. I think he should be "chosen". (I don't use the word "elected", since this is just a choice granted only to the few members of the Kumitat Ezekuttiv. A shame really, for the Gurus of democracy!!)

The P.N. machine works within a sound-proof membrane.
Nice for the come back of the Borg Olivier. But will he be accepted? Doubtful after the stab in the back of one of his forefathers.
Against two contendents Paul B.O might have got an outside chance; against the preferred one, little chance if any.
