Revered Batik artist and Guinness world record holder Sarkasi Said held a workshop for a mixture of art students and graduates, professional and hobby artists and others simply curious to learn more about the art form.
Mr Said demonstrated traditional Batik techniques, encouraging students to experiment with the medium of wax and paint on textiles in order to develop their own style.
Monica Spiteri, an artist from Attard who usually works with paint, ceramic and wood, welcomed Mr Said's instruction in a new medium.
Art graduate Aaron Meli and his wife Alison, of Safi, found Mr Said's workshop gave a much deeper understanding of the art form than the theory found in books and everyone welcomed the chance to experience an insight into the technique from the Baron of Batik, as he is known in Singapore.
His collection will be on display at the Contemporary Hall, National Museum of Fine Arts until July 27.
Visitors are welcome between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and entry is free.
