Sedqa has complained bitterly about the advertising and sale of an energy drink with the name Cocaine.

“To have a product named Cocaine advertised and sold to young people is an act of irresponsibility which creates confusion and conflicting messages for youths,” Jean Claude Cardona, Sedqa operations director said.

This, he pointed out, was happening while Sedqa and NGOs were working hard on the promotion of positive messages for a healthy lifestyle for young people.

Mr Cardona said that the fact that other countries were also selling this product did not justify Malta doing likewise.
