Energy-saving bulbs
The government is considering a number of options of how to implement a scheme to distribute energy-saving bulbs promised in its electoral programme, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said.
He told Labour MP Anthony Agius Decelis that once a decision was taken, this would be announced to the public.

What about the disposal of these low energy bulbs, as I do believe they contain Mercury.

There would certainly be more affordable options were the EU not still blocking imports of inexpensive Chinese made low energy bulbs with duties of up to 66 per cent in favour of the German producer Osram.
