NGO calls for Mistra Village investigation
Din l-Art Helwa , the environmental NGO, said today that it had reiterated its request for MEPA auditor Joseph Falzon, to investigate the way how the Mistra Village development application was processed by the authority.
"The Planning Directorate at MEPA recommended the approval of the application even though it went against the 8-storey policy determined for this site, as well as the Floor Area Ratio policy" Din l-Art Helwa said.
"The directorate also ignored the advice of MEPA's own Heritage Advisory Committee, which was against the approval of this application."
It said that the MEPA board took its decision to approve the outline application without any photomontages of the latest plans, even though the adverse major visual impact of the project was clearly one of the key concerns of the case, as was also confirmed in the environment impact assessment.

I think there is something wrong as reported in this statement. As far as I know, MEPA did not request an EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) on The Mistra Village development application but just a PDS (Project Description Statement); meaning no public consultation process as in an EIA and decisions are taken between the 'chosen ones'. Correct me if I am wrong.

I suggest we change the name Mistra to Minestra to better reflect all the shenanigans and different types of "haxix" ingredients which seem to come to light in projects planned for this area.
