Malta Blood Donors Association officials spent Saturday, World Blood Donors Day, greeting and thanking blood donors who called at the National Blood Transfusion Centre in Guadamangia.

A total of 80 blood units were collected on the day. Each unit can save the lives of up to three patients, the association said. A number of donors have expressed a wish to organise blood drives at their places of work.
