I refer to the letter Occupation Of Public Land (Anthony Cassar, June 10) about Church Street in Paceville and the car park in front of Tiguglio.

With regard to the Church Street issue, the board of directors of the Roads Division will be reviewing the matter during its next meeting.

The review will take place on the basis of a traffic impact assessment being prepared.

Details of the board decision will be communicated to the public once a final decision is taken.

As to the issue relating to the temporary use of the car park in front of Tiguglio, on February 19, the St Julians local council informed the Malta Transport Authority that, together with the Ministry for Tourism, it was going to organise a number of events during the months of May, June and August.

Where there is no major impact on safety, accessibility or traffic flows, the local council - a body that represents the interests of the local community where the event is being held - can organise such events.
