Joseph Troisi, director of the European Centre of Gerontology and head of the Department of Sociology, University of Malta, was recently awarded the degree of Honorary Doctor in Gerontology by the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. The ceremony took place in St Petersburg, and was attended by scientists and researchers in the field of ageing. Prof. Troisi gave a presentation entitled 'Meeting the Challenges of Population Aging Through Capacity Building'.
