Deliver what you promise - Muscat

The Labour Party will be giving Gozo and its needs "particular relevance" in this new political season, its leader Joseph Muscat said yesterday.

Dr Muscat visited various villages in Gozo during the first stop in what he described as his journey to meet people.

He said the MLP would be drawing up an exclusive strategy for Gozo that would target its particular challenges such as unemployment. He said that when Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi was first sworn in in 2004, he promised Gozitans that he would create work opportunities.

"My message is clear. Our country needs a new political season where that which is promised to Maltese and Gozitan families is delivered," he said.

He reiterated that he aimed to lead an MLP that was everyone's party and that sought to make Malta the best country in the European Union.
