A late 17th century bell, cast by Luca and Mederico Menville of the Ferreria of the Order of St John has been returned to its original place at the conference hall of the Ministry for Gozo, formerly the Order's Hospital in Gozo, which was inaugurated in1729.

The bell was housed at the Gozo General Hospital. Following restoration by campanologist Kenneth Cauchi it was recommended that it should be displayed inside.

So it was put on permanent display at the Gozo Ministry together with a number of paintings and inscriptions belonging to the hospital.

During the restoration process, the founder's mark confirming the pesatore's weighting of the bell was found. The bell also features an armorial shield of the Order of St John.
