Six Maltese companies took part in the fifth edition of the International Building and Construction Exhibition, in Libya.
In parallel with Libya Build, the Libyan Contracting Union Council also organised the First International Electric and Mechanical Engineering Exhibition, EMEX 2008.
The participation of the Maltese companies at the two exhibitions was coordinated by Malta Enterprise with the assistance of the Malta Enterprise Libya Office.
These companies included Advent Ltd, Andica, Capital Trading, Ħal Mann, Vassallo Builders and Würth (Malta).
They exhibited a range of products related to the building materials and construction sectors.
Malta Enterprise also had its own stand with varied information about trade and investment opportunities in Malta.
The exhibitions' opening ceremony was attended by Libyan Economy, Trade and Investment Minister Ali Al Isawi and Housing Projects chairman, Abuzed Omar Dorda and high officials from the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Mr Dorda visited a number of Maltese stands including that of Malta Enterprise.
Malta's Ambassador in Tripoli, Joseph Cassar, also visited the exhibition and was introduced to the Maltese participating companies by Noel Hollier, the commercial counsellor at ME Libya Office.
