Father and son charged over Zejtun brawl

A father and son were this afternoon granted bail against a personal guarantee of €1,000 (Lm429.18) after they pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Alistair Bianco in an argument on Tuesday night in Żejtun.

Carmelo Portelli, 58 from Sta. Lucia and Stephen Portelli, 30 from Tarxien pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Mr Bianco, slightly injuring Chantelle Bianco, breaching public peace, causing damage to Ms Bianco’s car and driving dangerously. Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona subsequently granted the men bail.

Police Inspector Arthur Mercieca prosecuted.

Lawyers Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri appeared for the accused.
