Spate of incidents reports: stolen car burnt

A stolen Ford Escort was destroyed by fire in St Nicholas Street, Cospicua, last night.

The police said they were alerted shortly before 11 p.m.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera is holding an inquiry.

A Briton who has been living in Malta for some time was lucky to escape uninjured last night when shots were fired near him at l-Ahrax in Mellieha.

The police said the incident happened at about midnight. The man was not hit.

Two men and a woman have been arrested after they were found in possession of drugs. The three, as well as their cars, were searched after police on patrol grew suspicious. They were found in possession of heroin, cannabis and drug related material.

The incident took place in Patri Redent Gauci Square at 12.30 a.m.
