An 18-year-old who cannot be named by court order was handed a two-year jail term suspended for four years today after he admitted to nine thefts carried out when he was between 13 and 15 years old.

The boy stole money and other items from Havana Cafe’ in St Julian’s, Vestis, Empire Pharmacy , O’Neill, Match Music Store, D’amato record shop, Pearl’s Grove, Jagger and Foto City in Valletta.

Three of the thefts had a value of over €1,000 and the rest were under €1,000.

He was also fined €582.
