Obituary

DEBONO. On June 11, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, MIRIAM, née Fenech, aged 81, widow of Maurice, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved sons Edward and his wife Claire, Martin and his wife Dorothy, David and his wife Johanna, her beloved grandchildren Jonathan, Rebecca, Maria, Daniel and Nicholas, her brother Prof. Frederick Fenech and his wife Mary Rose, Marlene, widow of her brother Joe, her in-laws Josephine and Alex Gollcher, Mark and Linda Debono, Albert and Anne Debono, Paul and Margaret Debono and Mary and Gino Genuardi, her many nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Casa Antonia, Balzan, tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. for St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to all the management and staff at Casa Antonia for all their care and dedication.

FELICE PACE. On June 11, at St Vincent de Paul residence, WILLIAM, aged 78, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Maria Montague, his sister-in-law Edwige Felice Pace, his nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence today at 8 a.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

In Memoriam

APAP. In loving memory of WILLIAM, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, on his fourth anniversary. Sadly missed but never forgotten by his wife Marlene, his daughters Nadia and her husband Mark, Connie and her husband Brian, grandchildren, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

GALEA - NENA of Żebbuġ. Lovingly remembered by her children and granddaughter on the first anniversary of her passing away to eternal life. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GAUCI - AMADEO. In loving memory of our dear father on the 49th anniversary of his demise. Mary, Josephine and Corinne.

LAFERLA - ALFRED. On the seventh anniversary of his demise. Always in our hearts and prayers. His wife Mary, son Alexander, daughter Jacqueline and family.

Assistance for animal breeders

Applications for ad hoc assistance for 2008 for full-time animal breeders are being accepted, the Rural Affairs Ministry said.

It said this help was co-financed between the European Union and the Maltese government.

For their application to be processed, the breeders should take their applications to the slaughterhouse in Marsa up to June 27 between 7.30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

First-time applicants should collect the application forms from the Rural Development Department at Għammieri or from the IACS Department in Victoria.

Comedy for charity

The Non Such Players drama group will present A Mermaid In Malta in aid of the NGO Equal Partners Foundation.

The show will be held at Melita Gardens Restaurant, Attard, tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m.

The comedy A Mermaid in Malta is set in 1927. While fishing alone in Gozo, newly married Paul Kindersley falls overboard and hits his head on a rock.

He is rescued by a mysterious and beautiful woman who comforts him for a night. By way of thanks, he offers her a day in Malta and a night at the opera...

Non Such Players was formed in October 2003 by Sue Fletcher, with the aim of offering one-act plays in English while raising money for charity organisations.

Equal Partners Foundation is a parent-run, non-profit foundation supporting 200 families with members who have a disability or a learning difficulty.

Tickets at €10 (Lm4.29) can be purchased from the door one hour before the performance or from Equal Partners Foundation by calling 2125 0400.

Preacher visits

Preacher Maria Vadia is in Malta until June 23 on invitation by Magnificat Malta Chapter. Today she will address people at a meal at Villa Arrigo, San Pawl Tat-Tarġa, following Mass at 7 p.m. Tomorrow she will be talking at St Julians parish church after Mass at 7 p.m. and on Saturday she will address young people at St Michael's School in Pembroke also at 7 p.m.
