The EU27 external current account recorded a deficit of €23.7 billion in the first quarter of this year, compared with a deficit of €30.4 billion in the first quarter of last year and a deficit of €2.8 billion in the fourth quarter of last year, provisional data supplied by Eurostat show.

In the first quarter of this year, the EU27 external balance of trade in services recorded a surplus of €16.3 billion, compared with a surplus of €18.9 billion in the first quarter of last year and a surplus of €21.4 billion in the fourth quarter of last year.
