Double blasts heard in Kabul, causes unclear

Two explosions were heard in the Afghan capital, but it was not immediately clear what caused them or wether there were any casualties, residents said.

Kabul has seen a series of suicide attacks by the resurgent Taliban in recent years, but demining agencies also sometimes carry out controlled explosions of detected landmines as well as ordinance, a legacy of the country's three decades of war.
