Danza del Fuego (fire dance) is the theme chosen for the spectacular pyro-musical event to be held on June 14 at Mqabba on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Lilies.

It will be the main fireworks event of the feast although ground and aerial fireworks displays will be held daily between June 14-16.

The display on June 14, the eve of the feast, starts at 9.45 p.m.

The Danza del Fuego will consist of a varied number of ground effects synchronised to music. Marvin Sciberras, PRO of the Madonna tal-Ġilju Musical Society, said the effects have been carefully blended with aerial spider web shells, spherical ball shells in all sizes and traditional cylindrical Maltese shells. There will also be a variety of design shells.

A traditional aerial display will follow. The display is prepared by Lily Fireworks Merlin Fire (Malta).The aerial display will be concluded with a grand finale at about 11.30 p.m., followed by ground fireworks. Last April, the Lily Fireworks was declared overall winner among 16 fireworks factories in the National Festival of Mechanised Ground Fireworks.
