Back from a successful participation at the recent London Wine Fair, Camilleri Wines' look convincingly very satisfied. It is not only the London trip that is on the company's mind but a season full of activities to which the winery is looking forward with more enthusiasm than ever.

"We are currently going through a very positive stint, first and foremost because it is now that we are starting to see the positive benefits both from the wines we launched last year as well as from the re-branding exercise that started last year as well as the more recent revising of our marketing strategy when it comes to the image in our promotional material," said Claudio Camilleri, head sales and marketing.

"All this came seemingly together during our recent experience at the London Wine Fair. We witnessed a lot of interest from several trade companies from a number of countries including the United Kingdom, France, Holland, Belgium and Russia. During the various wine-tasting sessions hosted at our stand we treated visitors to a number of wines from our Palatino and Laurenti range, the PianoForte and Blush Rosé. Although both the Palatino and the Laurenti range were retained as exceptional ranges, the Palatino Vermentino, the Laurenti Vermentino-Viognier and the Laurenti Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon were among those wines which clearly stood out and received exceptional comments and reviews from visiting delegates who specifically commented on the high quality of these wines," pointed out Louie Camilleri, general manager.

"Another important factor that rewarded our recent efforts in leveraging an enhanced image for our collective products as well as for our marketing image was the very positive feedback we received about our stand presentation and also the packaging of most wines. In particular, the imagery and the concept behind our Blush Rosé received a lot of positive comments and feedback. This augurs very well, especially at this time of year when we are about to start another summer season."

Blush Rosé, definitely Camilleri Wines' most fashion-conscious brand, took centrestage at last Saturday's Diet Coke Malta National Fashion Awards held at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre. Blush was in fact represented by Ben Azzopardi whom Camilleri Wines will be sponsoring for the next edition of Miss World Malta.

"The Fashion Awards was one such event that serves as a most natural platform for our Blush Rosé, a wine conceived for a market that wants to feel lavish and extravagant. Having Blush Rosé at fashion-related events reflects the concept that we want to tie to the wine - a brand with a fresh and contemporary look," explained Mr Camilleri.

The London Wine Fair was also an opportunity for Master Group, the mother company of Camilleri Wines, to introduce the new export packaging of Żeppi's Liqueurs which generated a lot of interest among people visiting the fair as well as a good response from the marketing and design people present. The distributing companies present also commented on the exciting taste of the liqueurs, especially the prickly pear (bajtra), pomegranate (rummiena) and the latest introduction, Żeppi's Carob (ħarruba) Liqueur.

"In fact we have made several contacts and now we are at the selection stage to see which could be those companies that would best promote the brand qualities of Camilleri Wines and Żeppi's Liqueurs," said Mr Camilleri.

Another two important upcoming events in which Camilleri Wines will be taking an active part are the Malta International Wine Fair being held at the Hotel Excelsior in Valletta and the P1 Championship 2008 Maltese Grand Prix of the Sea. Both events are being held this weekend. Like last year, we will be the exclusive winery inside the P1 Hospitality Village, a centre piece of the Grand Prix weekend characterised by luxury surroundings, gourmet catering, hostess service and special entertainment.

"Our wines are ultimately all about delivering a complete experience and having enjoyed such positive reviews at the London Wine Fair keeps filling us with a renewed confidence that makes us go into such high-profile events head up high and proud of our product," Claudio Camilleri added.

Malta's participation at the London Wine Fair was made possible thanks to Malta Enterprise who provided the financial support through its trade promotion scheme.
