Bouncer denies injuring patron
A 36-year-old bouncer, George Galea of Tarxien, this morning pleaded not guilty of seriously injuring Joseph Falzon at Brown’s Bar in Paceville on May 27 at around 4 a.m.
Mr Falzon, who is a resident of the United States, told the Magistrates’ Court that he had gone to the bar with family and friends and when he offered a drink to a woman, the bouncer grabbed him by his arm, pulled him outside and kicked him with his knee in the face.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke said there was sufficient evidence for the indictment of Mr Galea. She granted him bail against a €400 deposit and a personal guarantee of €3,000.

I think what's happening in London is that more crimes are being reported and solved because of the cameras, and not that crime rate is simply increasing.

There are some legal issues too. the inside of the bar or other entertainment premises is private and the cameras would be owned by the licensee. So the police cannot use the footage against the owner as one has a constitutional right against self incrimination. Consequently the owner cannot be obliged to furnish evidence against himself if say he had let under age persons in his establishment. On the other hand the camera would be used if the footage would not incrimante the owner as in cases were a criminal offence had been carried out by a third party

Because Mr.Micallef, cameras are no obstacle. Britain is the most watched nation in the world, yet look at the situation with teen violence in London, let alone other major cities.

Why isn't Paceville filled with CCTV cameras? It would make all these cases of violence, underage drinking, drug consumption, smoking, rape, etc so much easier to solve.
