Home equity scheme

Regrettably, the Housing Authority has lately stopped the home equity scheme, which was intended to assist first-time buyers acquire their first property. This scheme proved to be extremely successful and went a long way in easing the burden on young couples.

I understand a new scheme is to be launched in due course.

I urge the government to introduce the new scheme as soon as possible in order to avoid hardships on a good number of young couples who have entered into a preliminary agreement to purchase a property and are now unable to benefit from the scheme.
