Past students sing operettas

The fledgling choir of the Association of Lyceum Past Students has notched up another success with its second public appearance.

This time it was a very well attended Serata all'Operetta at the Casino Maltese, during which the ALPS Choir accompanied five of the best soloists on the island in an enjoyable evening of 20 popular excerpts from the best-known operettas.

The evening was organised and directed by ALPS choirmaster Joe Fenech, with Cynthia Genovese at the pianoforte. Taking part were mezzo-soprano Connie Frances Zerafa, tenor Bernard Busuttil, soprano Karen Camilleri, baritone Lewis Cassar and soprano Louiselle Pace Gouder with the ALPS Choir in the final rousing Hurra'!, Hurra'! from Emerich Kalmann's La Principessa della Czarda.
