Michael Falzon yesterday called on the Labour Party to remain faithful to its beliefs and proud of its history.
Speaking during a public meeting in St Julians, he stressed that the party needed to send out a positive message, which would be turned into a message of victory come the next election.
The leadership hopeful promised his loyalty to the party, saying he had never abandoned the MLP in the past 17 years that he had been part of it.
He said he wanted to be like a ship's captain who would be the last one to leave the ship if it veered into dangerous waters.
