Air Malta and Airest (Malta) are assisting the Malta Hospice Movement in raising awareness of the group's aims and objectives among Air Malta's customers.
Air Malta cabin crew are distributing Malta Hospice Movement bookmarks and are collecting donations on board flights to assist the movement. The donations will help the movement to continue offering their free palliative care services to their patients.
The Malta Hospice Movement is a voluntary, non-profit organisation which aims to provide the highest possible standards of Palliative care for persons suffering from cancer or motor neurone disease. It also helps and supports their patients' families.
Antoinette Shah, general manger of Malta Hospice Movement said: "Today, we are caring for more than 650 patients, who come from all walks of life and we are delighted that Air Malta is assisting us in this campaign."
Commenting on this initiative, Brian Bartolo, Air Malta general manager marketing Air Malta, said: "With the support of our customers and our cabin crew we are increasing awareness among the general public of the association's virtuous work.
Our assistance forms part of our 'Committed to the Community' initiative that aims to support and encourage local organisations and activities in various sectors whether they are cultural, social, philanthropic, humanitarian, environmental or heritage and sport."
