Woman robbed in Sliema

A 40-year-old Thai woman was robbed at her residence in Tower Street, Sliema, on Thursday evening. The woman claimed that just under €4,000 were stolen, sources said. No one was injured in the incident.

The police said they were informed at about 9.30 p.m. that an armed hold-up on a woman had just taken place.

Investigations revealed that the Thai woman, who is resident in Malta, was allegedly approached by a man brandishing a firearm who demanded money. The thief ran away when he got what he wanted.

The police are investigating.
