The final racing series of the Assoċjazzjoni Sport Muturi (ASM) 2007/2008 season, sponsored by Pasta Poiatti, will be held tomorrow at Ta' Qali.
The programme, packed with activities, will be an experimental one for the association as it will be the first time for them to organise races in the evening. In fact, the first event is scheduled for 7 p.m.
At present, Patrick Cassar is top of the standings in the Autocross Class A category and looks heading to a third championship on his Opel.
The runner-up position is still undecided though with Carmelo Mifsud (Imp), Mark Galea (Alfa), Edward Sammut (Honda) and John Taliana (Opel) still in the reckoning.
The Autocross Class B category winner will be determined tomorrow as the race for the championship is still wide open.
Christian Galea (Fiat) is enjoying a slight edge over his nearest rivals Chris Aquilina, Mario Scicluna and John Taliana (all Opel). Mario Galea and James Buttigieg (Fiesta) are also in with a chance on the last day of the season.
Clayton 'Zoqdi' Camilleri is the favourite to win the Motocross title this season. He rides a KTM bike. Honda rider Clint Sciberras is currently in second place.
Cecil Cefai (Escort) and Jason Cefai (Escort) will be the main contestants for the Autocross Gozo title as veteran driver Tony Spiteri has already secured the honours in the Bangers section.
