Foreign intervention

The Labour leadership contender Joseph Muscat showed political immaturity in inviting the President of the European Socialists' Party to come to Malta just to sing his praises. No wonder that he has been quoted as saying that we must forget his party's past. Which past?

His anti-EU membership or his party's infamous foreign intervention stance? This latest faux pas of his will not be easily forgotten, more so by the other leadership contenders who will consider this foreign visit as taking unfair advantage of Mr Muscat's position as an MEP.
