A Libyan was yesterday granted bail against a personal guarantee of €7,000 and a deposit on €3,000 after he pleaded not guilty to defrauding two people out of more than €2,329.

Azawam Azawam Atwair, 40, residing in Rabat, was charged with defrauding and threatening Donald and Christopher Attard, and with misappropriation.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli granted Mr Atwair bail after taking into consideration the amount allegedly misappropriated.

Police Inspector Ivan Cilia prosecuted.

Lawyer Kris Busietta appeared for Mr Atwair.
