Roberto Mancini's stint at Inter appears to be over after a meeting with club president Massimo Moratti to discuss his future lasted only 25 minutes, the coach's agent Giorgio De Giorgis said yesterday.
"Is it finished? More or less, it seems to be, but I don't have any confirmation," De Giorgis said.
There has been intense media speculation Mancini is about to leave as he has made no public comment since Inter clinched their third Serie A title under him nine days ago.
The 43-year-old's future has been in doubt since he said he would quit at the end of the season after the Champions League defeat by Liverpool in March before he quickly changed his mind.
"It would definitely be the club's decision as he had no intention to go," added De Giorgis.
Rumours that Moratti had lined up Jose Mourinho to take Mancini's place were fuelled yesterday by media reports the former Chelsea coach has been having Italian language lessons for five months.
